I LOVED the Textile Museum, and was so glad David saw it and said “Stop here!” I have such a respect for Fair Isle knitting, and all knitting, really. My trip to the Outer Hebrides gave me a real taste for the “life cycle” of yarn, from sheep to skein. Being able to chat with the spinner and the knitter was fun! I ended up getting two hats, one bright happy primary color design, and one purple and grey with curlews and a pompom. (The curlew was going to be a gift, but I found a puffin hat later in the week for the gift, now the curlew is mine.)

Perfect, perfect Shetland day. Looking at some stormy weather upcoming, but they DO call these structures “storm pods,” so I guess we’ll be safe!
