May 02 – Llangunlo to Felindre

I was up and out early, 7:15 AM, after an eggy breakfast and boiling up eggs for snacks for the next couple of days. Early on the trail, I met up with a lovely lady, Sue, walking her dog Tinker. The start of the path was very steep, and for all of her 80-some-odd years, she was outpacing me!!

Cooler temps made all the difference on this today. Sunny skies and gorgeous views all along the way, with plenty of hills to keep it interesting.

A working farm, and just quiet and lovely.
Super comfy caravan for the night. So far, batting 1000 on accommodations!

Today’s walk was almost 11 miles on my Fitbit, but the guide said 9 miles, so who ya gonna believe?

The views were stunning and I saw many red kites. There was one really awful bit where the path and all the area around it was wrecked by livestock, just a big muddy mess. It was very hard to know exactly where to place one’s boots! That section slowed me down quite a lot, enough that my Fitbit asked me if my walk was done! NO, NO Fitbit, it is not!

This caravan was SUPER luxe, even tho the bathroom was outdoors. I skipped the shower, which was in the main house. My food was delivered to my door, and it was delicious comfort food of chicken curry and rice, plus dessert. And yes, two ciders! I definitely deserved it.

At this point, my feet did not hurt. It would not, alas, always be so….
