Our last full day in London was packed full of stuff, and many miles were walked. We started with a visit to Hampstead Cemetery to try and find the grave of Edwin Abbot Abbot, author of “Flatland.”

Five photos from our search for Edwin Abbott Abbott’s gravesite at Hampstead Cemetery. Alas, no luck.

So: next surprise. Back to Hackney! We grabbed some lunch at a really cool market-type building with many food stalls and places to sit and eat. As we walked toward our destination, I tried to guess (unsuccessfully) where we were going.

David had found out about the recently-opened East Storehouse of the V&A. And it is just too much! So much stuff, and too much fun.
Most of these photos are self-explanatory. It’s hard not to think of the last scene of Indiana Jones. There is treasure everywhere, much of it boxed up, but a lot on display. The space itself is a trip. I’ll be going back in May 2026 to explore the portion of the David Bowie collection that will be on display.

Cranes in Hackney.

David had discovered the Parkland Walk, which was a delightful way to end our last day in London!

And thus ended our final day in London.
We were sated, to be sure, and ready to get on the airplane for the looooooong flight home. Thanks for the good times, London!
