While the London Museum Smithfield is closed for major renovations until the end of 2026, the Docklands is very much open, and is amazing! The Treasures of the Thames show is fascinating and educational. We ended the day taking a water taxi to the power station.

I found my way here after a moderate walk, meeting David, who took a much longer walk (from our flat to here, many miles).

The main exhibit was focused on artifacts found in the Thames through the years. Mudlarking is an old and honored tradition in London!

The Beatles did an entire day around London, their Mad Day Out.

Thus begins the section about Great Britain’s history of enslaving humans to work their plantations in the colonies. Grim and fascinating.
