Our turnaround was hilariously awful, and took much longer than it should have. We got to our berth in time to pack up and get a few snappies of the inside of our narrowboat, the Lyra.

Our plan was to get the bus to the train station on the early side, relax a bit, then be on a mid-afternoon trainride to Sheringham, Norfolk, to spend a couple of days with my friend Christine. Due to some trouble on the line, every train was canceled that would get us to our connection in Edinburgh in time for a train to Sheringham; so we were trying to figure out where to spend the night. Well, there was loads of pearl clutching on my part, David was calm, and it turned out there was a late train to Sheringham we were able to catch out of Norwich. LOL.

Part of my distress was simply planning overload. I had timed our transit connections with such care, and had already had a couple of borks that I dealt very successfully with. But his felt like a bork too far, and I definitely reacted accordingly.
In the end, all was well, and we got to Sheringham late, but our friends awaited!
