It was an easy but exhausting trip, and I did not sleep a wink, as usual. Virgin Atlantic non-stop from SFO is really a great flight. I paid a pittance for an upgrade to Economy Delight, and my seatmate and I lucked out with an empty middle seat. No complaints! It was a pretty easy tube ride to Paddington Station, where I had a little confusion finding my platform, and there were no lifts so I had to struggle a bit with my bag.

Just spectacular Persian food at Vanak, and so much that I picked off bits of it for two days after!
It was super easy to settle into my Airbnb, since it was just one room with a shared bath. Second floor looking out on the mews was really quiet and peaceful. A little desk would’ve been nice, but the price was great. The “lounging area” living room was 100% NOT that. There was laundry hanging everywhere drying, and stuff on every surface. The host was so sweet, though, that I didn’t ding her for this. There was a good kitchen with space for my food in a cabinet, and in the fridge. The location 15 min. from the Bakerloo line, and a minute from buses, was pretty perfect. Being near the canal was a treat!
I had booked my flight with a plan for side trips to Venice and Paris with my friend, Christine. Having decided to simplify my trip by only going to Paris, I had several extra days in London to do with as I pleased. And I *did* please!
